Denver District Court Chief Judge Larry J. Naves has been awarded the annual Judicial Excellence Award by the Colorado Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a leading U.S. civil trial lawyers’ organization.  A Nov. 6 award dinner at the Denver Country Club and was attended by 110 guests, including Judge Naves’ family, fellow judges on the Denver bench bench and Judge Naves’ staff members.
ABOTA’s Colorado chapter has 112 trial attorneys.  The 6,300-member organization, a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges, was founded in 1958.  It is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
The Judicial Excellence Award was presented to Judge Naves by Gary M. Jackson, Colorado president of ABOTA and the Hon. Christina Habas, Colorado membership chair.
