Ballot Measures’ Sponsors Appeal Judge’s Disclosure Ruling

LAW WEEK COLORADO

DENVER — The proponents of three tax-cutting ballot measures that opponents say could devastate Colorado’s economy have appealed a judge’s order to divulge the names of people who helped get the measures on the ballot, The Gazette reports.

Administrative Law Judge Robert Spencer ruled last month that the sponsors should have formed issue committees and reported financial information related to Amendment 60, Amendment 61 and Proposition 101. He also found the proponents worked with TABOR author Douglas Bruce on the measures.

The appeal says there was no evidence the proponents violated any rules.
