DENVER – A Denver-based mining company on Thursday announced Wendy Cassity as new vice president, general counsel and secretary.
“We are very pleased to welcome Wendy Cassity to our management team and look forward to working with her,” said Kevin Loughrey, chairman and CEO of Thompson Creek Metals Company, in a statement. “Wendy has extensive experience in corporate, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters for Thompson Creek.”
Cassity will succeed Dale Huffman, who left to pursue other opportunities, the company announced. Before joining Thompson Creek Metals, Cassity served as M&A counsel for Danaher Corp. in Washington, D.C., and was also a partner and corporate associate at the New York-based McDermott Will & Emery. She received her law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. is one of the largest publicly traded, pure molybdenum producers in the world. The company owns the Thompson Creek molybdenum mine and mill in Idaho, a metallurgical roasting facility in Pennsylvania and a 75% share of the Endako mine, mill and roasting facility in northern British Columbia.
