Bankruptcy Attorney Honored for Saving Domestic Violence Victim

LAW WEEK COLORADO

DENVER – A Denver bankruptcy attorney was recognized for risking his life while saving the life of a woman caught in a violent domestic domestic dispute, reports Kyle Glazier in the Denver Post.

Police said that Matthew McCune, managing partner of The McCune Law Firm, suffered from stab wounds in the neck as he was helping Erin Lucero to safety from her boyfriend. McCune was walking his dogs in Berkeley park at night on Oct. 13, when he saw Lucero pushed from a car by her boyfriend. He has some scarring and mild facial paralysis, but expects full recovery and has already returned to work.
