LAW WEEK COLORADO
DENVER–The Latin American Educational Foundation recently elected Loretta Martinez, general counsel for Metropolitan State College of Denver, to its board.
LAEF is a Denver nonprofit that provides scholarships to Hispanic students in Colorado, and also provides mentoring and outreach.
Martinez has been general counsel at Metro State since January 2010. She’s also held similar positions at Colorado College and Colorado State University. At Colorado College, she was the college-wide chair of its diversity task force. She was also part of an initiative at CSU in improving the school for Hispanic students and staff, which sparked the state to start its own chapter of the Hispanic Association of College and Universities.
She received her law degree in 1991 from Harvard Law School.
