LAW WEEK COLORADO
DENVER–Two attorneys representing blogs sued by Las Vegas newspaper copyright enforcer Righthaven recently filed a counterclaim, the seventh the organization’s received since it fired off 249 copyright infringement lawsuits, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
Natalie Hanlon-Leh and Spencer Ross, attorneys from Faegre & Benson’s Denver office, on Tuesday filed the counterclaims alleging Righthaven lacked standing to assert the copyright infringement claim. They represent Freedom Force Communications, The Say Anything Blog, Scott Hennen and Say Anything Blog editor Rob Port.
The lawsuits didn’t elaborate the allegations. The Righthaven lawsuits stem from a Denver Post photo showing aggressive TSA searches of passengers. Righthaven has not yet responded to the latest counterclaim and it is unknown when the other counterclaims will be resolved or settled.
