Autistic Blogger Files Motion In Denver To Dismiss Copyright Suit

An intellectual property attorney in Fort Collins who’s defending blogger Brian Hill pro bono filed a motion to dismiss to which newspaper copyright infringement firm Righthaven must respond by April 11.

Of the around 50 Righthaven lawsuits filed in Colorado, Hill’s attorney David Kerr said he questions Righthaven’s jurisdiction on the blogger case because Hill lives in North Carolina, was sued by a mega-firm in Nevada, and is being “crushed” by a lawsuit in Colorado federal court.

Kerr is particularly interested in Hill’s case because Hill is autistic, diabetic and receives about $8,000 a year – his main income – from government disability.
