BOTH OF THE U.S. SENATORS FROM KANSAS, Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran, say they will oppose the nomination of a fellow Kansan, former Kansas Attorney General Steve Six, to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver. Six is a Democrat nominated to the court by President Barack Obama. Roberts released this statement late Wednesday: “After thoroughly reviewing Mr. Six’s record and his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, I will not support his nomination to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. I have urged my colleagues on the committee to vote against his nomination.” Neither said why he wouldn’t support the well-qualified Six. SAYS WICHITA EAGLE: “That lack of explanation is likely because there isn’t a good reason, and that their opposition is mostly driven by partisanship and abortion politics.”

CONFIDENTIAL TO PENNY PARKER: Thanks for the hat tip!

HE SAID IT: “Usually, when nothing is found, there’s no story because, well, nothing was found. But when a story begins on the Internet and advances to talk radio and becomes a story before it can be fully reported, it’s a new world. It’s a more exciting world, certainly, but there are a few kinks in the project.” — Mike Littwin
