DENVER — The Colorado Judicial Branch announced yesterday that Gov. John Hickenlooper named Cheryl Rowles-Stokes as the new county court judge in the 18th Judicial District. Rowles-Stokes is filling a vacancy created by Judge Ethan Feldman’s retirement. Rowles-Stokes, who lives in Aurora, is a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She currently directs the Economic Crimes Unit of the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s office. Her appointment is effective immediately.

Gov. Hickenlooper appoints new county court judge in Arapahoe County
DENVER — Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced today the appointment of Cheryl Rowles-Stokes to serve as a county court judge in the 18th Judicial District. Rowles-Stokes will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Ethan D. Feldman. Rowles-Stokes, of Aurora, currently serves as the Chief Deputy District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District and directs the Economic Crimes Unit, where she has served since 2001. Previously, Rowles-Stokes was a human resources professional at High Speed Access Corp. and Rifkin & Associates. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado Christian College, a master’s degree from Jones International University and a J.D. from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Rowles-Stokes’ judicial appointment is effective immediately.
