Lakewood Family Law Attorney Killed; Police Seek Suspect

Police are searching for a suspect in the killing of local family law attorney Claudia D. Miller.

Miller, 66, was found Tuesday evening by a cleaning crew in her Lakewood office building at 445 Union St. Police haven’t released the cause of death but said there was trauma involved.

Detectives are searching for a man seen on video surveillance using Miller’s credit card at an area Walmart and King Soopers. Police also are looking for Miller’s 2012 Honda Accord with Colorado plate number 915-YTU.

Miller received her bachelor’s degree in 1969 from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from University of Colorado Law School in 1982 and was admitted to practice in Colorado a year later. She opened her own firm in 1993 focusing on family law.
