The Denver office of Arnold & Porter hired Paul Rodney as an associate in its general litigation practice group. Rodney worked as a summer associate for the firm last year. A 2009 law school grad, Rodney received his J.D. in December from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was senior staff editor of the Denver University Law Review. He received a B.A. in English in May 1991 from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He also received an M.A. in English language and literature in December 1992 and a Ph.D in English language and literature in December 1996, both from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During the summer of 2008 Rodney interned for both the Colorado Water Trust and the appellant division of the attorney general’s office. He also worked as a contract law clerk at the Tillis Law Firm in Denver from April to October 2008.
Stacey Mueller joined Ogletree Deakins’ new Denver office as an associate. Mueller focuses on representing employers in employment litigation and also counsels them on employment and human resources issues. She also has experience representing companies in matters involving non-compete agreements and the protection of trade secrets and other confidential information. Mueller earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado and was previously with Hall & Evans in Denver.

Bankruptcy and restructuring matters litigator Keith Sambur has joined Ballard Spahr’s Denver office as an associate in the litigation department. Sambur joins the firm’s Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Capital Recovery Group, where he will represent companies facing financial or operational distress. He’ll also provide services to hedge funds, investment banks and other financial institutions suffering with investments.
“Keith’s experience and expertise in complex workouts will be a great addition to our extremely busy national bankruptcy group,” said Roger Thomasch, managing partner of the firm’s Denver office. “We are thrilled to have him.”
Sambur comes to Ballard Spahr from firms Richards Kibbe & Orbe and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, both in their New York offices.
Natalie R. Sullivan has joined Pendleton Friedberg Wilson & Hennessey as an associate. Her practice focuses on general civil litigation, including employment law, employment discrimination and wrongful termination. She has prior legal experience in on a wide variety of matters in both private practice and the public sector. “We look forward to Natalie providing our litigation department with additional depth and expertise,” said Edgar Neel, president.
Denver commercial law firm Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe added two associates.
Matthew Larson is a 2009 graduate. He was in the top five percent of his class at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He did an externship for U.S. District Court Judge John Kane Jr. and clerked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel. He focuses on real estate and environmental law.
Emily Dodds is a 2009 graduate from William & Mary School of Law. She specializes in special districts, estate planning and employment law.
Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons announced two new associates will join its Denver office.
Amy Wills, a lateral from Chicago firm Jenner & Block, will continue her practice in commercial and complex civil litigation. She is a 2005 graduate from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
E. Martín Enriquez is a lateral from Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell. He will continue his practice in commercial and complex civil litigation in both state and federal court.

Melanie Gavisk joined the Denver office of Arnold & Porter as an associate in its general litigation practice. Gavisk graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in May 2009, where she was a legal writing assistant, research assistant and a member of the University of Colorado Law Review. She was also a summer associate for Arnold & Porter in 2008.
Law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck announced today that Michael Hoke will join the ranks as an associate in its litigation group.
Hoke’s practice focuses on general litigation, including commercial, securities and antitrust ligation. Prior to joining the firm, Hoke was an associate at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in Boston.
Before graduating cum laude from Harvard Law School, Hoke was an economist and financial engineer with Fannie Mae and an economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor. Hoke started at Brownstein on Jan. 12.
