DENVER – The Denver office of national employment law firm Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart announced the addition of four immigration attorneys from regional law firm Holland & Hart on Wednesday.
Angelica Ochoa and Christopher Thomas joined the law firm as shareholders. Ochoa has a broad employment law practice with a specialization in obtaining non-immigrant work visas and employment-based immigrant visas for management, professionals and specialized skills employees. She is a 2001 graduate from the University of Michigan Law School. Thomas focuses his practice on employment immigration law. He also serves on the boards of the Latin American Research and Service Agency and the Denver chapter of religious conviction organization J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Thomas received his juris doctor from Tulane University in 1997.
John Combs, who joined as of counsel, has a number of years of experience in employment based permanent residency applications with a specialization in the initial labor certification process. He learned his law degree from the University of Idaho in 1983.
Jocelyn Campanaro, who worked in Holland & Hart’s Washington D.C. and Denver offices, is an associate with a practice focused on complex commercial litigation and labor and employment disputes. She’s also specialized in representing professional sports teams and athletes on immigration matters, including players in the National Hockey League, a leading team in the Central Hockey League, World Champion cutting horse riders and competitors in the equine industry.

Ami J. Galani and Jeffrey J. Dolan, associates at Hogan Lovells US, have been accepted to area leadership programs, the firm announced.
Galani has been accepted to the ACG Leadership 20 Program, for which participants are nominated from professional services firms in Denver and considered for admission into the 20-person group.
Dolan has been selected to participate in the Leadership Denver Class of 2011 through the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation.

Samuel W. Cantrell has joined Ballard Spahr’s Denver office as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Cantrell is a member of the Corporate and Government Investigations and White Collar Defense Group. A former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Cantrell now advises foreign and domestic clients on a variety of compliance and dispute resolution matters, such as government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and related civil litigation.
“Sam is a superb addition to our litigation team,” said Roger Thomasch, former chairman of Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department and the current managing partner of the firm’s Denver office. “Our trial practice is extremely busy nationwide, and Sam’s courtroom capabilities will be in immediate demand.”
Cantrell is a graduate of both the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Wyoming Law Review, and the University of Wyoming. He is admitted to practice in Wyoming, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Nicole K. Gorham of Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons has been elected to the board of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, a nonprofit, nonpartisan consortium of 56 Colorado law firms that do high impact pro bono work.
The Colorado Lawyers Committee advocates, negotiates and litigates for children, the poor and other disadvantaged groups. Gorham is serving as a representative for the Sam Cary Bar Association.

DENVER – Margaux Trammell, an associate at Denver law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, was named to the board of Freedom Service Dogs.
Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit that trains rescued dogs to assist disabled military veterans. Trammell will serve on the board’s development committee, where she will assist in fundraising matters.
Trammell is a 2003 graduate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is a member of Brownstein’s corporate & business group.

Claire Dossier has joined Snell & Wilmer’s Denver office in a lateral move from Las Vegas.
Dossier is an associate whose practice is focused on bankruptcy and commercial litigation, and she will continue to represent her national clients in this new market, as well as Colorado-based businesses.

Civil litigation defense attorney Linda Knight joined Denver law firm Taylor Anderson as an associate.
Knight is a 2007 graduate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She specializes in specialty insurance litigation for primary and excess carriers, premises liability, product liability, tort defense, real estate litigation and general commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Taylor Anderson, Knight was an associate at Greenwood Village law firm Podoll & Podoll. She was also a clerk for Supreme Court Justice Michael Bender.
